"My living room is a blank canvas that lends itself to endless variations," says actress Jane Seymour.
"What I like about it is that it's so functional. It's casual but elegant and can be changed out at a moment's notice with just a few choices because of its clean lines and neutral color palette."
Seymour begins a new chapter this spring with the launch of three new furniture collections in association with designer Michael Amini. Read on for Seymour's interior design tricks:
1. "As an actress, I learned years ago that reflected soft light was my best friend. It's the reason we all look better on camera. So why not use this trick in real life?"
2. "A home is a living being - and so it's vital to me to have living things there. Apart from my family, I have to have plants, shells, flowers and all sorts of natural elements that I've gathered."
3. "Complementary colors are the colors opposite each other on a color wheel, which is a chart that can be bought at any craft or art supply store. Using these pairs of colors is a great way to decorate as one color perks up the other."
