Just as this classic color is a staple of wardrobes, black is back in full force, setting the trend for appliance sales and envious glances. According to a recent report by the NPD Group, Inc., unit sales of black refrigerators, washing machines, clothes dryers and ranges all grew in 2007. With black washing machine sales up 113 percent from 2006 and clothes dryers up 59 percent, these appliances are taking market share away from their typically popular white counterparts in every area except dishwashers. |
