The Light Stuff

While chromatherapy has taken the bathroom by storm, with bathtubs and tiles that emit a rainbow of tinted lights intended to rejuvenate, soothe and indulge, the rest of the house has been a bit slower to warm up to its purported therapeutic charms.

Now, a new kitchen faucet has taken up the cause. KWC America's new Eve faucet, distinctively flaired, sports an LED ring of light that illuminates the tip of the spout. The little beam offers users constant convenience for washing dishes, preparing food or getting a drink of water in the middle of the night.

"It combines beauty and modernization with innovative technology, function and ease-of-use," says KWC's Jeff Boardman. "It also adds an aesthetic appeal to any kitchen."

The faucet's designer, Michael Lammel, based his creation on childhood memories of his mother having trouble seeing in the sink while preparing food.

It may not be chromatherapy, but it certainly isn't a bad idea.
